At the Arts & Music Festival, the new ArMOCA had a bracelet contest that I couldn’t resist to enter. The tall shape gave me an idea.. and, even though it took me way longer that I ever should have worked on this bracelet.. I did this..
Ben and I have recently joined the board for Main Street Paragould. I am loving being a part of something where I can make a difference right here at home. I live pretty close to downtown, and probably use it more than most: my yoga class is downtown, I get coffee and cupcakes often, meetings, bars.. I love it.
The Director, Gina is a wonderfully spirited woman and I couldn’t help painting her little caboose, aka the Main Street Paragould headquarters.

Instead of a small Art & Stroll this year, Paragould began the first annual Arts & Music Festival. I did the branding: logo, posters, flyers, website, tshirts, stickers, brochure…. you name it, I probably did it. Here are just a few items from the 2014 campaign.

Two of my miniature pieces were selected to be a part of the 2014 National Juried Exhibition in the grand opening of the NEW gallery space for the Batesville Area Arts Council Gallery. There were over 220 entries and only 28 selected; I was 2 of them.
As you can see from the photo above, mine are the smallest paintings in the show by far, but they definitely held their own. I was able to attend the artist reception and met a few brilliant Arkansas artists.
I felt honored to be invited by the Arkansas State University AIGA to be a speaker for their student show – Revival!
The show was impressive and it was fun to see the ASU campus again.
About the Show
(from their website.)
This is a competitive juried show for graphic design students in Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. The jurors are respected professionals from across the country who each have an educational tie to the Delta region. The chosen student winners will be on display in Arkansas State University’s Fine Arts Gallery. The award ceremony will be on opening night, Saturday, April 26th from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. The guest speakers will be starting their presentations at 7:00pm, followed by the announcement of the winners and their prizes.
This year I was lucky enough to do the branding for the 2014 Ozark Foothills FilmFest. The barn picture used was taken by me in Minnesota; originally a daytime picture, it was digitally altered to be illuminated by the moon.
